"Jerry Espenson", who is explained to have Asperger's Syndrome at the beginning of the show, is a fellow lawyer who founded his own law firm after going through therapy for his condition. Throughout the series, "Jerry" moves up the cooperate ladder and eventually partners up with rival lawyers "Alan" and "Shirly" at "Crane, Poole & Schmidt".
