Monica Horan, "Robert's" on and off girlfriend, was actually married to the show's creator, Phil Rosenthal. She eventually got used to their arguments ending up in Rosenthal's scripts. An example of that would be the episode where "Debra" has PMS, which involved the same argument Rosenthal had with Monica a few days back.
