After his role in "Stand By Me", he moved on to star in movies like "The Mosquito Coast", "Running on Empty", and "My Own Private Idaho". He also starred in a number of TV shows "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers", "ABC Afterschool Special" and "Surviving: A Family In Crisis". Phoenix sadly passed away on October 31, 1993 due to a drug overdose.
