Christine Baranski plays "Dr. Beverly Hofstadter", "Leonard's" mother. She is at least as intelligent as her son "Leonard" (played by Johnny Galecki), but the two do not have a particularly close relationship. "Beverly" is not really a loving mother when it comes to "Leonard". None of "The Big Bang Theory" nerds really like "Leonard's" mother apart from "Sheldon". In real life, however...
