Ever wonder how Richard Karn secured the role of "Al" on "Home Improvement"? Well, he was doing a staging of "MacBeth" in Los Angeles and was cought through a stop sign one day on his way home from rehearsal. The result (aside from a ticket): he was sent to traffic school, where he met an agent who told him about a part that was available on "Home Improvement". Karn discovered he knew enough people involved with the show to secure an audition, and he got the part!
