Carrie Bradshaw's character actually exists in real life! A columnist from New York named Candace Bushnell regularly wrote for the "New York Observer" from 1994 until 1996. All of her columns were later put together into the novel "Sex and the City". She was largely responsible for the birth of the franchise.
