Since the elf “Legolas” has piercing blue eyes, Orlando bloom, who has brown eyes, had to wear blue contact lenses while shooting the films. These contacts really didn't sit well with him and he couldn’t wear them all the time, so the color of his eyes was digitally altered in post-production. But when “Legolas” is looking at the Crebrain birds in Dunland, one notices that he alterations were forgotten and he has his (natural) brown eyes.
