In the 1988 action film "Die Hard", Bruce Willis plays the NYPD Detective "John McClane" for the first time. On Christmas Eve, NYPD Detective John McClane arrives in Los Angeles. He aims to reconcile with his estranged wife, Holly, at the Christmas party of her employer, the Nakatomi Corporation but ends up facing off with the German terrorist Hans Gruber, played the the late great Alan Rickman. The film promises pure excitement and action, and has become a real home video classic. Four sequels were produced and all of them, of course, featured the one and only "John McClane".
